Reading further down in the article, the $1.2 billion doesn't include the $1.13 billion in other liabilities (including unpaid medical bills) against $585 million in assets.
So that's actually $1.75 billion total lost. And they insured 740,000, or, $2360 per person.
Good grief, that's 2/3 of a typical annual premium right there.
