Clinton Refugee Immigration plan will cost $400 Billion

WASHINGTON— An analysis by the Subcommittee on Immigration and The National Interest finds the refugee plan of presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton could cost hundreds of billions of dollars.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has announced her desire to admit at least 65,000 refugees from Syria – on top of the existing refugee flow already entering the United States. What Clinton has not explained, however, is that in addition to the clear national security implications related to accepting more refugees, there are massive financial costs that would be borne by federal, state, and local governments.‎

Assuming Clinton's desire to bring in 65,000 Syrian refugees is in addition to the Obama Administration's current goal of admitting 10,000 this fiscal year (out of 85,000 total refugees), that would amount to an increase of 55,000 refugees. ‎55,000 on top of 85,000 totals 140,000 refugees. The Obama Administration's target for FY 2017 is actually 100,000 refugees, meaning that adding 55,000 refugees to that would result in 155,000 refugees each year. Due to statutory flaws in our Refugee Admissions Program, the number could be as high as Hillary Clinton desires. Assuming her goal is to admit 155,000 refugees each year during a hypothetical first term in office, a Clinton Administration would admit at least 620,000 refugees in just four years – a population roughly the size of Baltimore.

It is so interesting that the so called party of the poor and working class is so interested in bringing in droves of unskilled people. Any reasonable economic analysis would show that this would hurt the poor and unskilled working segment of the economy by adding more competition for what are already low paying job and adding more to the roles of those benefits from the government.

Want to see the parallel? Look at the construction and related trades in the DC area. In the 80s those jobs were filled by US born workers, many would caravan in from WV and rural parts of VA, live in campers or weekly rental hotels during the week and head home on weekends. They weren't going to get rich, but for people with HS or less educations and no real skills other than a strong back and a work ethic, it paid the bills. Then the waves illegals from Mexico and south started showing up. Within 5 years you couldn't find a US born worker on a construction site. All those jobs were gone for the US born workers because the job that used to pay $10 an hour and provide health insurance now paid $5 an hour and no benefits. The people doing the jobs lived 10 to a 2 bedroom apt and if they got hurt went to the ER and just didn't pay the bill because there is no downside for them.

The progressives who push for open borders created the mess the poor are in today but have created an environment where the people who's lives they have destroyed are bow beholden to them for their meager survival. Continuing to let more and more unskilled people into the economy will only make it worse. But that's OK, because Bill and Hillary and their friends can stay in power and continue to live like royalty.
Looks like the only thing 1984 got wrong was the date.
