what do you think the best lessons are for each side in this election?

I think they're obvious.

For the republicans, stop nominating weenies. They don't have to be foul mouthed, but someone who will strike back at the left's nonsense. Even if Trump loses, he's doing better than Romney did.

For the democrats, stop nominating crooks. The left will stand behind any criminal so long as they have a D by their name. That's got to change as they've cemented themselves as a party of crooks and swindlers. Even if Clinton loses, they've lost credibility.
