Can Trump nix the O-care exemption for Congress?

Haven't read anything serious regarding this. If he does have the power, it's an interesting card to play

I sure hope so. It's time to go bare knuckles with the incompetent leadership in Congress.

Even if he were to get a bill introduced to congress and make the same schmucks who voted down repeal vote against Obamacare for themselves, it would be pretty big deal for the primaries.

Did a little more research and this looks like it would be simple to do, actually. They already only have their Gucci health plan as a result of Obama. Be a shame if something happened to it.

Wasn't that part of the negotiations to get Odumbshiite Care passed?

Not sure what th angst is. They're all signing up for an Obamacare plan (unless they're getting coverage through their spouse) that is available to other Americans.
Do you have an issue with the employer subsidy they're getting, which was the same subsidy they were getting before the ACA passed? Most employers provide a subsidy.

Screw them and their staffs. Let them eat shirt.

Here's the details: yes, the federal subsidies for their health plan:

Got it. Just to be clear, that is treating congress and staff differently, ie worse, than every other American, who are eligible for employer subsidies.

They already have gold-plated Healthcare, why should tax payers pay for that level of care and pay for their exemption as well.

??? Ok, then what failure are they supposed to experience before everyone else's?
Are you saying that eventually employers will stop subsidizing healthcare plans, so congress and their staffers should experience that now?

JFC DC, this isn't rocket science. Let them and their staffers experience drastically escalating healthcare costs before the rest of Americans do.

There's another saying that says, "When you mean "let them experience rising healthcare costs first", don't say "let their health insurance crash first".
On a similar note, should that be the case if they repeal Obamacare with something like the latest proposal, which also had increasing premiums?

No. Different subsidy structure, different health plans. Not remotely like everyone else. They get 75% of their premium covered. They have gold plated plans to choose from.

Actually it isn't part of the law. It's an exception that was added. Obama ruled that each states congressional office was its own small business, thus they each qualify for the small business (less than 50 employee) subsidy and exchange in DC. Total BS. Congress is one big business.

When health insurance costs more than anyone can afford, I consider that a crash. Are you going to play 7 degrees of retard now and debate what crash means? This stupid shtick of yours is tiring - especially when everyone sees it 7 posts earlier.

Ok, rule.
The bottom line is that congress and staff were receiving an employer subsidy prior to the ACA and are still receiving it. They could have stayed on the same insurance plan they had before the ACA(which other fed employees who are part of the same big business that Congress are still part of) and moved on. I just don't see the big deal. If the rule hadn't been issued, Congress would be the only fed employees without insurance subsidy.
Would you ask Congress to forego the normal fed employer benefit under the new GOO insurance plan, if one passes, which would also have increasing premiums?

So exempt Federal employees who aren't law makers. But I'm all for law makers feeling some pain for their spineless leadership. If that can be accomplished by Executive Order, then so be it. They need to be held accountable, because they damn sure won't hold themselves accountable.

LOL. No problem, USN considers a crash the point where health insurance costs more than anyone can afford, so no reason to discuss what else it could be.
Personally, I think it's the point where insurers have stopped offering ACA options, which is already happening. I also don't think taking away Congressional subsidies is going to keep them from affording healthcare.
Not that it matters, it's already been settled.....

I think that would be a good move, and much less douchey then removing it for everyone.

Show me on the doll where USN's word choice hurt you.

The entire reason they were so (or professed to be so) adamant about getting it was their staffers. When they start losing their best staffers, they'll take notice.
