Venezuela, a Triumph of Socialism

Post by Techmomof2 »

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/pu ... lan-misery

Winston Churchill made the telling observation that socialism can provide equality, but it is the equality of misery; while capitalism offers the inequality of prosperity and plenty. History has reinforced this belief many times and now we are living through this nightmare yet again in a place Hugo Chavez of Venezuela a called socialist paradise.

This is a dark and dangerous period with an unprecedented level of desperation. The socialists have taken an economy that was among the most successful in South America and reduced it to an unrecognizable facsimile of itself. Admittedly class distinctions are gone, just as food stuff has disappeared from grocery shelves.

The average weight of a Venezuelan has been reduced by 20 pounds. Scarcity has led to violence and the violence on the streets has been accompanied by a government crackdown.

Millions of Venezuelans have signaled their disapproval of President Nicolas Maduro, Chavez's successor. However, despite overwhelming disapproval, Maduro is intent on consolidating his power through a constituent assembly vote and the drafting of a new Constitution, one that presumably would give him dictatorial authority.

Opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, recently released from prison and under house arrest, has been engaged in mobilizing voter opposition to Maduro's initiative. Whether a protest movement can gain momentum remains to be seen. But tensions have soared with widespread food and medicine shortages and an inflation that doubles the price of food each week.

Just what does a dictatorship have to do with socialism? One is a form of government, the other a form of
economics.
But don't let facts get in the way of a rant. When oil was high did you see the riots?
Please don't draw any Limbaugh conclussions,I am not advocating a socialist state, just fed up with you
right wingers making one thing out to be another.

The conditioned, typical, liberal, feel the bern response to socialism largely being a disaster worldwide is generally two things.. 1. "Will never happen here".. and 2. "Sweden" .. so because of those two rock solid pillars of logic, we should go to single payer healthcare, "free" college, "free" daycare, "free" everything and 40-50% tax rates.. 'cause despite our disdain for "populism" we are "america" after all, so robin hood would work here. That is the typical liberal wonk point

These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger. Who's the banana republic now? - Bernie Sanders, US Senator from Vermont Friday August 5, 2011

WTf are you ranting about now.Who is talking about Sweden?Beside, what do you have against ABBA and
hot blondes?

Plus I assume you went to Tech, back in the day it was pretty damn inexpensive, not free, but not out of sight. If you so feel that the government and the state were so wrong in giving you the chance for an education, then pay back $50,000 per year for the time you were there.

Plus pay the state $15,000 a year for you high school and elementary years, unless of course you went to private school.

Real cool dude,go all Trump why don't you. That is the standard for your crowd.

Put that" Ellie" badge on your chest big timer, like you are the only one to ever pay for a child's
education. As far as you paying for your way thru Tech,if you paid 100% then good. You still got a hell of a discount
thanks to the federal government and the state of Virginia.Plus,if your parents were dirt poor and you got out
of high school with 4 cents in your pocket, then we can talk

Otherwise,as far as your fat ass go,I will gladly kick it from Fairfax to Floyd.

Are you functionally retarded?

Oppression and starvation is the end state of communism (that's what this really is. Read Marx - Socialism is just a vehicle towards Communism). Having retarded central planners who based their economy on something like $90/bbl oil is just icing on the retard cake.

Arguing "well this isn't *true* socialism/communism" is like arguing that hawk isn't illiterate, he just hasn't had a chance to form a coherent sentence yet!

College is so expensive because demand has gotten so high and the idiots in the government are loaning the money to kids who insist on studying curricula which leave them no means of ever paying the loans back. The cold truth people don't seem to want to accept is that college isn't for everyone. A great many kids will do perfectly well and live very happy lives if they go learn a trade rather than waste their time and money getting a B.A. in some useless liberal arts study. Cut demand and the cost of tuition drops like a friggin' rock.
I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican... if you refuse to consider alternatives to the two parties, you support the Status Quo and you are a major part of the problem.

Where did that money come from? And when did I say or even remotely imply I was the only person to pay for my kids college? What are you jealous? Envious? That is you socialists problem..come after folks like me that earn an honest living and pay our debts and call us "cheaters" or" we got discounts" - like your lazy ass actually provided the discount personally.. Give me a break. I went to VT in state.. My parents and I paid taxes in the state of Virginia that were used to "discount" the tuition in your twisted world. WTF? Like the students today don't get this "discount"? WTF are you talking about?

Hey you pompous Neanderthal, everyone pays taxes. Some more than others. You got a discount of great
proportion, not as much as say North Carolina, but a discount.Think people in Penn.,N.Y.,Mass.,etc did not pay taxes, yet cheaper to go to state school in Va.,than at home. You argument has no merit.

You are a 21st.century flat earth disciple looking for a explanation of why the earth is flat.Good luck,I
know in the day I would pay 25,000 to 30,000 in taxes. If you did more, then thanks.

Yet, you do not see me crying,"I had to pay taxes".It is a civic responsibility, comes with being an American. Now if you want to discuss do I like paying taxes for stupid stuff, then I will say no.I paid taxes
just like you and many others yet my children went to private school all the way from pre school thru
graduation.Reason, public schools in my part of the state are "really bad."

I am out, just stop by to rile your little right wing sewing club up.Could have wrote the canned responses
