you do realize you can apply to become a citizen of the USA? So what is stopping the people here illegally or on some other special status?nova1111 wrote:http://www.thedailybeast.com/koch-broth ... t-dreamers

Here's an article on that. It's not easy, and the number restrictions hit potential US citizens from Mexico especially hard. Low number permitted. Huge waiting list. Could take many years. But aside from that, it could cause many of them to have to leave at least for a while, and that's the entire point of all of this. They have no place to go to -- no families, friends, home, no ties at all with the 'old countries.' The majority have seldom been to their 'home country' and many of them were infants when they were brought here and have never been back. They have no ties whatsoever to those other countries and have developed their lives here solely.cwtcr hokie wrote:you do realize you can apply to become a citizen of the USA? All good stuff. Trump is doing the right thing here, and Congress is now under the gun to do the right thing. Tough one for the GOP, though. Many in the base don't want to give them a path.nova1111 wrote:http://www.thedailybeast.com/koch-broth ... t-dreamers

Essentially only the Dems want a path to citizenship. legislation needs to give them a path to permanent resident status. Not citizenship. Not voting rights. And they need to take away the chain immigration from them. If they really were brought here without their consent or knowledge, essentially by methods out of their control, then they shouldn't have any need to trail in all of their extended family.HokieFanDC wrote:All good stuff. 100% not true.. the dems have successfully brainwashed you that "trumpers" are against all immigration.. not true.. Repubs and the "base" support and want more efficient LEGAL immigration. But that sucks, because its "hard" for ms13 kids to do that. It's "unfair" for leaders of child sex slave rings and rapist to do that. Dems want an open border with mexico, because they think brown people automatically vote for them.HokieFanDC wrote:All good stuff. It's not close to .10 cent on the dollar anymore, but I get your point. Any technically skilled Indian resource is making decent money in America in 2017..them working for 30K to code software days are long overVienna_Hokie wrote:Amazed how little people understand this.133743Hokie wrote:...and gardeners, and manual laborers, and field hands, etc. See a pattern here?CFB Apologist wrote:They need maids and nannys..nova1111 wrote:http://www.thedailybeast.com/koch-broth ... t-dreamers

Just like their lefty pals in silicon valley, they don't give a rat's backside about mexicans, that is nothing more than a convenient cover. What they want is access to educated and $.10 on the dollar paid engineers and tech workers from India, China, etc.
