Also continuing resolution on funds for government. Ryan had previously called that kind of deal ridiculous.

Ryan is an ineffective leader that needs to be replaced. He can't get anything done so he was bypassed. The debt ceiling was going to get raised one way or another. This gets Harvey relief to Texas faster and that was the key issue here. Revisit better deal in three months.

That's what the Dems wanted to do -- revisit in three months. They got it.

I don't really see any problem with this so long as they don't push CR's until after the election. It sends a good message to the R's that they don't run the show, as well.

Yep. I'm going to call my local rep. It's time for Ryan to get canned.

As 133 said we all knew the debt ceiling was going up, you have the TX disaster and about to have a multi state very widespread disaster which will make TX look effing cheap.

Nope. He's just doing what he said he was going to do. The republican party continues to fight everything he wants to do. He's getting tired of it so he's going solo. They can get on board and join the ride or they can be left behind to lose re-election because they did so. Their choice.

If Congress wants to extend the borrowing capacity out to November 2018, that should be easy enough. Pass a budget that cuts the deficit enough so we don't have to borrow so f**king much!
I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican... if you refuse to consider alternatives to the two parties, you support the Status Quo and you are a major part of the problem.

That's not going to happen because they all, and I mean ALL, want to increase spending.
