With their Cap’n and Chief Intelligence Officer having deserted them, River, Ham and Joe valiantly continue their whataboutismistic last stand of the DJT apology tour.

Correct. OK, so we're not talking about the spectacles being created in taxpayer-subsidized 100k seat stadiums?ip_law-hokie wrote:I think he's referring to Pence's virtue signaling.USN_Hokie wrote:We're talking about the NFL, right?HokieHam wrote:On the tax payers dime too.....Major Kong wrote:Ayup.nolanvt wrote:This was a designed political stunt. You and nolan sure have situational ethics when it comes to government spending. Nolan approves of using taxpayer money to teach LGWTFBBQ "morality" to little kids in public school, IP believes in using taxpayer money to provide late term infanticide to girls so they don't look fat in their prom dress.
.... But you guys are completely outraged that Pence went to a stupid football game.

Yep, here in Indy they haven't even retired the bonds for the original Hoosier Dome that was imploded to make way for the new Lucas Oil Stadium.
But then again, I'm sure there was the same concern when Obama used AF1 to campaign for the loser, Hillary.

The more I think about this, the more I'm convinced the NFL is run by a bunch of imbeciles.
They had a golden ticket out of this PR nightmare:
1. Every fricking player stands for the National Anthem.
2. Pence stays for the game.
3. Stop putting cameras on the barely literate millionaires who can't control themselves.
But nope, they couldn't control their players for a single game.

Oh, and I'm not outraged. Yeah, we are paying to fly Pence around......but, I really believe this was thought out before and it's a brilliant political move.USN_Hokie wrote:OK, so we're not talking about the spectacles being created in taxpayer-subsidized 100k seat stadiums?ip_law-hokie wrote:I think he's referring to Pence's virtue signaling.USN_Hokie wrote:We're talking about the NFL, right?HokieHam wrote:On the tax payers dime too.....Major Kong wrote:Ayup.nolanvt wrote:This was a designed political stunt. It starts at the top. I think free agency did a lot of damage to the NFL.....but now we have a nolansjw running the organization in Roger Goodell. He really needs to be replaced.USN_Hokie wrote:The more I think about this, the more I'm convinced the NFL is run by a bunch of imbeciles.

The owners should also do something. I know Jerra did AFTER pulling his stupid stuff last week.

Right, but they should have brought the hammer when the VPOTUS was attending a game. I think they'll all be standing by the playoffs, but it's probably too late. The brand is irreparably tarnished.awesome guy wrote:A lot of owners are bringing the hammer now, kiddie time is over.USN_Hokie wrote:The more I think about this, the more I'm convinced the NFL is run by a bunch of imbeciles.

Re: Pence leaves 49ers @ Colts game...
Yup. You can lay this squarely at the feet of Goodell. Let this go on for far too long. At least the NBA guy said it wouldn't be allowed. What these fools(players) don't understand is that people don't want politics in something most of us use as an escape.....awesome guy wrote:Should have ended it last year, now is way too late.USN_Hokie wrote:Right, but they should have brought the hammer when the VPOTUS was attending a game. Re: Pence leaves 49ers @ Colts game...
The NFL's chickens are coming home to roost by giving the players more opportunity to protest during the anthem given that they were rarely out on the field for it previously (e.g. Super Bowls). Colleges are smart enough not to have their players out during the anthem.

Re: Pence leaves 49ers @ Colts game...
That might have worked had it always been the case. Doing it after the fact is just insulting/demeaning to everyone. There's no easy out for the NFL from here out IMO.nolanvt wrote: Colleges are smart enough not to have their players out during the anthem.

IP calling cops pigs, you calling players illiterate (barely literate).
