Spielberg fast tracked a movie to glorify the Post and the NYT. Stars Tom Hanks and......Meryl Streep. They did this to combat the Trumpster turning the left’s initial “fake news” (Fox) mantra back on them....and in a much more effective way. They won’t admit it, but it’s exactly why they made this movie.

$50M budget.........$2M opening.......finished behind a ShiRt ton of movies in revenue.

Nobody tell Ham that the movie is only out on limited release (literally 9 screens) and isn’t being released fully until 1/12/18.

I wonder why it only made $2M? Oh, probably because it was showing in a grand total of NINE theaters in the entire country. It doesn’t go into wide release until mid-January. Check out the average gross per screen.

Nice attempt at stickin’ it to the libs though!

Didn’t do my journalistic duty. I saw an add for it and wondered how it did, since the box office this year is down big time anyway.

C’mon, I’m ready for bets. Movie won’t make $50M at the box office. I’m willing to put my money where my mouth.....well.......keyboard is.

The last Spielberg/Hanks film (Bridge of Spies, 2015) only made $165M in box office, so yeah I’m sure it’s gonna flop.

The rapists and degenerates are going to restore honor to the liars? That's hilarious.

I assume this is the movie that Hanks said he wouldn't screen at the White House.

That’s the one.

Come on......I’m betting against Hanks AND Spielberg! You would think these snowflakes would step up.

If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. At least I’ll admit it.

Made $92M. Not directed by Spielberg, not starring Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep.

This review on Rotten Tomatoes
The Post is so on the nose for the political moment that at times it almost seems it might have been produced not by Spielberg, but by some high-end marketing firm

Gee, ya think?

Spotlight is a movie about the news like Titanic is a movie about seamanship, or Jaws is a movie about fishing.

*This* movie is, by all accounts, literally about the news.

Yeah.....it was a good movie.

Bets? I’m saying this won’t make $50M domestically, to be clear.

That's a movie about reporting on Catholic Church pedophilia, covered by the Boston Globe. The Globe was tertiary to the plot; it was about pedophilia. This movie will be about ...the Post. LMAO. What a snore fest.
Only a head-in-sand leftist will enjoy. Gee, I wonder if movie attendance will be harnessed for voter registration, and "do you want clean water?" petition signatures by ACORN.

Hollywood's pathetic attempt to salve the left's wounds with a consolation cinematic blowjob. I can't wait to not watch it when it airs on HBO.

All The President’s Men made $70M in 1976, which is about $300M today.
