A Daily Caller News Foundation investigation just turned out astounding details. Swedish company Ericsson was facing massive reprisal for conducting business with human rights violator, Iran. However, the Clinton’s changed the dynamic. During his wife’s tenure as Secretary of State, Bill Clinton was paid $750,000 for a speech he gave for the company. In return for his motivational address in Hong Kong, head of the State Department Hillary Clinton kept the nefarious tech company off the list of sanctioned entities. Basically, Ericsson gave Iran the ability to monitor and intercept every telecommunication conducted.
Released on Tuesday, the investigation into internet surveillance of totalitarian states identified several companies operating within authoritarian regimes. Journalists imprisoned in Iran have claimed their captors interrogated them with print outs of digital communications including texts and emails.

Basically, this statement only sounds true to someone that doesn’t know what they’re talking about, “Basically, Ericsson gave Iran the ability to monitor and intercept every telecommunication conducted. ”.Techmomof2 wrote:https://conservativedailypost.com/clint ... rture-aid/

When DC gets condescending, you know he's wrong. Seems like he would learn given how intelligent and informed he is.RiverguyVT wrote:HokieFanDC wrote:Basically, this statement only sounds true to someone that doesn’t know what they’re talking about, “Basically, Ericsson gave Iran the ability to monitor and intercept every telecommunication conducted. ”.Techmomof2 wrote:https://conservativedailypost.com/clint ... rture-aid/

So, Ericsson provides the equipment to Iranian telecom companies. The services provided by the telecom companies allow people all over Iran to communicate with each other digitally, and gives them access to social media. Without those services, the protests, the organization created to defy the government, and the ability to get that message outside of Iran, would not exist.
If not for companies like Ericsson, Iran would be North Korea.
Also, the idea that Ericsson escaped any sanctions is LIV nonsense. No equipment makers were included in the sanctions imposed on Iran. If Ericsson had been sanctioned, that would have been the outlier.
And the sentence you posted above is the result of the telecom carriers either turning data over to the government, or the data being intercepted by the government - like the US has increasingly done since 9/11.
IMO, someone is connecting dots that don't exist. The first clue should be the line about Ericsson facing massive reprisals, that is just not true.
