Re: Inflation Hits 5.4% in June
Well then let's raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. That should take care of it.
Re: Inflation Hits 5.4% in June
Isn’t this inflationary rise more of a reflection of increased demand with supply chains not caught up due to the pandemic and not really a policy issue (at least yet)?133743Hokie wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:52 pm Well then let's raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. That should take care of it.

Wage inflation isn’t transitory. It will continue to fuel further inflation.hokie80 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:58 pmIsn’t this inflationary rise more of a reflection of increased demand with supply chains not caught up due to the pandemic and not really a policy issue (at least yet)?133743Hokie wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:52 pm Well then let's raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. Yup. More and more companies are realizing this isn’t all transitory. PPG announced yesterday or the day before that what is happening isn’t short term and they’re raising prices again.Mcl3 Hokie wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 1:08 amWage inflation isn’t transitory. It's definitely a policy issue. The economic monetary policy of the last 10 years or so had a 100% chance of inflation at some point.hokie80 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:58 pmIsn’t this inflationary rise more of a reflection of increased demand with supply chains not caught up due to the pandemic and not really a policy issue (at least yet)?133743Hokie wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:52 pm Well then let's raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. Re: Inflation Hits 5.4% in June
Okay. The “free” money probably has some impact. But what policy has been put in place by Biden limiting oil production? I’ve read several recent oil industry reports that addressed lower production through 2021 but that it would increase in 2022. One of them pointed to any Biden policy.
Our biggest driver of inflation has been due to won’t up demand from the pandemic and the inability for supply to meet current needs.
