Democrats always do this crap. If you don't vote for the Democrats (even white Democrats), you're a racist. How does this messaging work???

I like how they're also trying to treat it like the only way a republican can win is without Trump. Trump endorsed Youngkin and had several events for him in addition to supporting him in TV interviews. Meanwhile every McAuliffe ad said Youngkin is a Trump surrogate. That's what actually got me to vote, thinking he may be like Trump. Trump was certainly on the ballot and part of the campaigns. Not to mention the unpopular Xiden also on the ballot. Hell, democrats are having to stuff ballots in NJ right now to win.
If Youngkin had embraced Trump he would have lost, period. The middle switched from Biden to Youngkin because Youngkin is not Trump.

because liberal voters tend to emote rather than think. This makes them very pliable by the media.

The NeverDrumpfer lunatics are hilariously trying to claim Trump had nothing to do with this victory. Other than mobilizing his base in a razor thin victory, yeah sure, nothing other than bringing the winning votes ya small and petty people.

Trump brought victory in another way, he changed the entire game and perception of success. Trump was outstanding, brought peace and prosperity to America while showing love and concern for Americans. He set a high bar. That's followed up with Xiden, the incompetent dope that NeverDrumpfing lunatics supported. The contrast in performance in terms of quality of life and faith in the nation couldn't be any more stark. So that's the current environment. Youngkin didn't show much love or concern, but McAuliffe showed hate and disdain for Virginians, particularly parents.

Couple the above with white women realizing they tossed out the competent guy for a crooked and senile dope and they weren't about to make that same mistake twice. Americans now know what competence looks like and it's not what NeverDrumpfer lunatics believe it is. McAuliffe's ads all tied Youngkin to Trump, ads targeting white females, the group that flipped towards the guy they aligned with Trump. Trump was very much on the ticket and won.

Lots of speculation that the casino referendum failed in Richmond because the heavily white west and north sides voted more than 2-1 against it, primarily as a slap back at Stoney for pushing to remove the monuments on Monument Ave. This was his pet project and old-school Richmonders put a stop to it.

And then Youngkin didn't have to wave around Trump and trigger the NeverDrumpfer lunatics that pretend to be right. Trump was very much in the election. Youngkin could keep him at distance to not trigger idiots as McAuliffe was out blasting Trump ties, giving Youngkin the benefit of such ties without himself doing so and alienating morons.

Turn out likely mattered, but I doubt the against vote was a middle finger to Stoney in particular. Maybe it was to blacks at large as it was advertised as black owned and so FBLM. Though I think it was more about not wanting a magnet for crime. That's at least what the handful of people I talked with thought about it. They figured it would become another place in the city that you couldn't go because of crime.

McAullife tried to tie Youngkin to Trump as a negative. Youngkin kept his distance, accepting Trumps endorsement 6 months ago and then letting it drop. Trump made no personal appearance. Trump made no ads. Youngkin never used Trump in any of his campaigning. In fact the main reason suburban women swung to Youngkin is that he WASN'T campaigning as a Trumper, and he had no desire to, as he knew that would hurt him. He walked the fine line very well, not putting off the rural Trumpers nor the moderate independents and suburban voters, and did it successfully. McAullife's whole campaign was to try and make Youngkin seem like a Trump acolyte, but except for one Youngkin statement from the very beginning, there was nothing to make the tie. Trump was nowhere to be found in the election which is why the republicans did so well across the state.

Nope. Again, Trump was campaigning for them. You're not a Trump guy so didn't see it, he was actively pushing his base. I agree that Youngkin walked the line perfectly by not advertising Trump much while also not disavowing him. He didn't have to advertise Trump, McAuliffe did it for him and that's what was brilliant about it, McAuliffe was accidentally making campaign pitches for Trump supporters the entire time. I couldn't watch a YouTube video without seeing one and you guys know how many YouTube videos I watch. Youngkin let McAuliffe do all the work of rallying Trump supporters without himself pissing off the NeverDrumpfer lunatics. The idea that Trump wasn't part of the election is just idiotic, he was all over it, but in clever ways for Youngkin and dumb ways by McAuliffe.

Eh...not a good look if true.
Virginia Republican Governor-Elect Glenn Youngkin’s former Carlyle Group cohorts own Dominion Voting Systems, the controversial voting machine company that is at the heart of widespread claims the 2020 presidential election was fraudulently stolen.

From a quick Google ...

* Staple Street Capital was co-founded by Stephen Owens in 2009. Owens left the Carlyle Group that same year.
* Staple Street Capital bought Dominion Voting Systems in 2018 - nine years after Owens left the Carlyle Group

To say that Youngkin had anything in the world to do with Dominion (good, bad, or indifferent) is a stretch

Wait, you're telling me that there are still people that think Dominion is a company on the up and up? A company that sued news outlets so they wouldn't report anything about them? And then there is Eric Croomer:
Coomer’s Facebook posts included:

“If you are planning to vote for that autocratic, narcissistic fascist asshat blowhard and his Christian jihadist VP pic, UNFRIEND ME NOW!”

“Only an absolute F—-ING IDIOT could ever vote for that wind-bag, f—tard FASCIST RACIST F—! No bull—-, I don’t give a damn if you’re a friend, family or random acquaintance, pull the level, mark an oval, touch a screen for that carnival barker… UNFRIEND ME NOW.”

Coomer then qualified his long-rant against Trump by saying this about Dominion:

“…these opinions are rational, and completely my own. They are based in reason and highly credible. Though they are not necessarily the thoughts of my employer, though if not, I should probably find another job… Who wants to work for completely morons?”

Did you watch the video? He was obviously sloshed. I heard he was drinking a LOT of wine backstage. So I'm guessing that is what stained his lips.
