VA governor race
I think Youngkin's doing a pretty good job so far.
But why in the world... why oh why... did he ever agree to having Chuck Todd as a debate moderator? Goodness.
He'll be debating the moderator.

Re: VA governor race
Question #1: What do you think of our current governor, who enjoys dressing up in blackface, or our current lieutenant governor, who, since all women are to be believed, is a rapist?

Youngkin is trying to thread a needle. He can't be too trumpy or nova will reject him. But if he's not trumpy enough the conservatives in the rest of the state will reject him.
And he's doing a pretty decent job of it.
He certainly seems better than most recent Republican candidates in the state.

Re: VA governor race
I guess we should have nominated Corey Stewart again so he could lose by 40 points and set the Republican party in Virginia back from ever hoping to again be competitive.

Trump is the only Trump. He is largely about personality. His ideology was simple; just don’t be communist and put the US first. Done
These dem ads suggesting Youngkin is Trump-lite are silly. Conservatives aren’t looking for Trump. Leftists have reduced us to just hoping to find someone that isn’t communist and doesn’t hate VA (or the country).
There’s no needle to thread. No one won’t vote for him for not being enough like Trump. They WILL skip voting for him if they detect any hint of socialist, anti-freedom, anti American sentiments. Trump is 1000% irrelevant to everyone but the TDSers who are still kept awake at night.

Or super weenie Gillespie. Not that operating in facts is your thing, but Stewart was a senate candidate. And milquetoast Cuccinelli was also tOo RaDiCaL and RaYcIsT for you. You have 0 credibility in this.

I'm protesting BigDave and Hillvillian. They act like every republican is some kind of whacko and so them supporting Younkin makes him suspicious of being the do-nothing morons that they seem to like. He'll give a fiery speech against legislation that he signs, the type of moral stands that idiots love.

McAwful and Trump are (or at least were) good friends. If you're casting an anti-Trump vote, I'd pick the guy who doesn't pal around with Trump. (For that matter, I'd also pick the guy who didn't pal around with Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein.)

I'm casting an anti-BigDave vote. This is retribution for you being useless and a fraud who walks away from good Republican candidates after believing lies about them or just being uninformed. I'm sure you're supporting Younkin just because he wears a sweater and looks like a youth church camp counselor.

Nope, I'm serious. I'm protesting the fraudulent and weak "Republicans" that walk away from good candidates for dumb and dishonest reasons. They're all for Youngkin, which makes him suspicious. So I'm not for him as a middle finger to the gremlins within the party. Youngkin is a racist and pees on beds with prostitutes and so I can't vote for him.

In all fairness, that's pretty much how it works these days. "Anti-fascists" protest fascism by being fascist. "Anti-racists" protest racism by being racist. Until Trump, I voted for every Republican - whether it was a "mainline" party-insider Republican (Dubya, Gillespie, etc), a libertarian (Cuccinelli), or a conservative (Randy Forbes, McDonnell, etc).
I could not, in good conscience, cast a vote for either Donald Trump or Corey Stewart.
But I voted Republican before them and fully intend(ed) all along to vote Republican after them.

You voted against Cuccinelli and for Starvis too. At least that's what you said here, not sure if we're just lying or whatnot, but that's what was said. I'm not going to rally with people that won't rally around the candidates that they're wishy-washy on. Screw them, I'll give them the Goldilocks treatment too.BigDave wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 1:46 pmIn all fairness, that's pretty much how it works these days. Yes, I do. He only has the power that he takes or that the media gives him. The R party (DC) loathes the guy.
Exactly what policy of Trump’s could Youngkin enact if elected? None.
Trump is not running. Trump has no hooks into Youngkin. The men are nothing at all alike.

I was told on this board not long ago that as long as the GOP didn't nominate a "RWNJ" then they would have a good chance to win. Are we now saying Youngkin is a RWNJ? Is that going to be the label given to every GOP candidate in VA going forward?

I have a feeling that the sweater wearing brigade are the same people that lock up their brakes on streets to let people at stop signs on the road. While they're basking in their high morals, they're oblivious to the 4 car pileup they just created. They're idiots and a nuisance.
