The bill passed by congress yesterday clearly showed that 50% of the GOP are agents for the Democrats. Half of House Republicans voted for that spending bill abomination, and half of Senate Republicans voted for it. That was some of the uniparty's finest work.

Compared to the rest of the topics on this board. Less than 0.2%. And even more telling is that most of the halfwits here still vote for Trump, who is the worst GOP spender in history.

Just when I think Trump has run out of ways to shock me ...

Trump is NOT a Christian. His endorsement of anything religious holds no value to me whatsoever.

God has one and only one message for Donald Trump - believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shall be saved. If he wants to sell bibles, maybe he should try READING the Bible.

I believe we are rapidly approaching the end times and it's little surprise that there are false christs who will arise and deceive people. Jesus said it would be that way.

Holy trigger alert Batman!
The President encouraged people to buy a Bible!!! :o

And on cue, the left is aghast. I bet it kept you up at night.

Lee Greenwood.

In May 2021, to commemorate the 2001 attack on the World Trade Centre, Greenwood published the "God Bless the USA" edition of the Bible. It has the U.S. flag on its leather cover and includes the texts of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the chorus of "God Bless the USA" in Greenwood's handwriting.[19] The text of the Bible was intended to be the New International Version,[20] but Zondervan, the division of HarperCollins that owns the rights to the New International Version, withheld them rather than associate Christianity with U.S. nationalism, and it used the King James Version, which is in the public domain in the United States.[21] It created further controversy in 2024 when former president Donald Trump promoted a new edition of it.[22]

Actions not words.
Donald Trump may not be a frequent churchgoer, but he treats those who are with respect.

Trump's former OMB director and acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney just wrote an article that illustrates a real difference between Trump and Biden when it comes to people of faith.

The Wall Street Journal:
The story begins in February 2018, when I was director of the Office of Management and Budget. Just before Lent, I asked White House chief of staff John Kelly to relay to the president what I later learned was an unprecedented request: a Catholic Mass in the Old Executive Office Building on Ash Wednesday.

I did that in large part because Lent typically falls during crunch time for budgeteers. I knew there was at least a small group of practicing Catholics who might want to attend Mass and receive ashes that day, but who might not be able to because of work. Mr. Trump approved the request.

The result was stunning. More than 100 people showed up to the first Mass in history in the White House compound. Not all of them were from the White House. Dozens were career staffers from the nearby federal agencies who had worked under President Obama and now serve in the Biden administration.
That's right — the first Catholic Mass ever to be celebrated in the White House compound was given the green light by the uber-heathen Donald Trump. Contrast that with "devout Catholic" Joe Biden sending his DOJ goon squad out to arrest Catholics for praying outside of abortion clinics.

Words vs. actions.

Mulvaney says that "Protestant, Muslim and Jewish services were also held on the White House campus grounds," after that.

All of that was lost to COVID, of course. Mulvaney pressed the Biden transition team to start things back up and was told that they would consider it "after COVID."

Well, Joe Biden long ago thumped his chest and declared that COVID was over and the worship services haven't resumed.

Reagan was the right man for his time. But times have changed, and "peace through strength" has morphed into America has to police the world and there are no limits on how much money we'll spend for the military industrial complex - which is diametrically opposed to "limited government" and "fiscal conservatism." "Free markets" have resulted in all of our manufacturing jobs being shipped to China and Mexico.

The mission now has to be to stop global Marxism and to save America and the freedoms that she protects - as the founders intended. Blindly standing on the principles of the "3 legs of conservative" while the left runs rough shod shredding the Constitution is an exercise in futility.

Erick Erickson is nothing more than a NeverTrump fool that is riddled with TDS and a relic of the past.

Maybe you saw a recent clip on X from conservative talk radio personality Erick Erickson criticizing what he calls a “weird movement within conservatism” that questions things like “limited government” and “free markets,” principles long associated with the conservative movement.

If you haven’t seen the clip, take a look. It’s like watching someone talk about the state of conservatism halfway through Obama’s first term, when Republican leaders were vowing to repeal Obamacare and inveighing against Democrats for violating the Constitution with a “socialist” health care scheme. (Obamacare was of course never repealed and is now, all these years later, a permanent feature of America’s health care system.)

Erickson’s point, which he also made in a post for National Review, is that the Republican coalition for decades was built on the “three-legged stool” of fiscal conservatism, traditional values, and a peace-through-strength foreign policy. This is what won the Cold War and unleashed prosperity at home. I’m sure you’ve heard the story.

The problem now, he says, is that some people on the right (whom he doesn’t name) are calling into question these orthodoxies, especially free markets and limited government. They aren’t fighting to cut the size of the government but are instead working to gain control of it and wield power to achieve their preferred outcomes.
...
So what to do about this? Erickson’s admonition amounts to a posture of permanent defeat. If conservatives can’t wield power to bring about their vision of the good, of a rightly ordered public square and a prosperous society, then the leftist radicals will continue to seize power and press forward with their permanent revolution, as they have been for decades.

Instead, we need to recognize that the conservative movement has failed. It is dead; we have seen it die. The fusionism of the Cold War era, when libertarians and social conservatives made common cause against communism, is finished. So too is the GOP establishment whose first priority was always corporate welfare at the expense of everything else.

As I wrote in these pages nearly two years ago, we have to stop thinking of ourselves as conservatives and start thinking of ourselves, and our movement, as restorationist and counterrevolutionary. In a very real sense, we have to re-found our country, and to do that we will have to seize power from the left — and use it.
