Otay I've been doing some bigger bitcoin data mining here the last 5 weeks.
Several months ago I started mining bitcoins with a spare pc in the basement with a fairly robust ATI Radeon 4870X2 video card.
I had accumulated 1.2342 bitcoins over the time which actually came out to $161.05 which I had put on my pay pal account.
I figured meh I got some loose change so back in January I ordered 20 of the Butterfly Jalapeno 5GH/S Miners. for at that time $110 each for a net $2230 w/shipping.
I connected the 20 units this USB hub.
I'm using the Easy Miner software from Butterfly Labs and joined the Eclipse Mining Consortium as my pool and holding client.
I broke even on the equipment after the 29th day and right now averaging $74 a day though I know with the next difficulty rate increasing my profit (after electricity cost) will probably go down to the $60 a day range...not bad for a for a spare part PC with a Phenom II X2 550 processor and ASRock motherboard.
