If our beloved Hokies have ever had a great draw in the tournament, this is it. If we win our first two, then our sweet 16 opponent is a team we have already beaten. Or VCU. Either way, it's not a bad draw.

It ABSOLUTELY kills me to pick some of the teams I've picked.... brain trumps heart. If I lose, I'll be the first one smiling that UNC or Duke lost.

With Zion back, I just didn't see any other team that matched my uneducated eye test. Dang, they looked good. I'm very bullish on ACC.

It looks like ESPN is doing that stupid thing where points double each round - so picking the national champion correctly is worth the same number of points as picking every single first round game correctly. Oh well.

After one round, the Hokies are still alive and have a very favorable bracket. We get a 12-seed, then we either get a 9-seed or a Duke we have already beaten. (Honestly, UCF looked good and I'm not sure Duke is there waiting for us in the sweet 16.) I'm not impressed with any performance I saw in the lower half of our bracket. If we've ever had a chance at a final four, this is it.

On UWS, it's anybody's game. Literally - since winning the national championship is worth as many points as the entire first round combined.

Remember, we're using stupid scoring where picking the national champion is the same number of points as the entire first round. (And, of course, correctly picking the national champion means that you also correctly picked at least one of the participants in the national title, guaranteeing you half of the points of the first round.) All of the 1's, 2's, and 3's are still alive and so everyone still has their final four intact. (That will change soon.)

Seriously, TOB is reporting that he passed a drug test. So I guess the cops will be apologizing now?

I'm really having a hard time understanding what sane cop would charge someone in a shared apartment with drug possession when that person is on the other side of the country and you have no evidence it is his. If it's a single guy who lives alone? Okay. If it's a college student with probably 3 roommates and probably a constant train of friends and, umm, nighttime companions? No way in heck that charge sticks.
